
Challenge
Former lines were already collecting and utilizing real-time equipment data, while overseas subsidiaries were manually recording production results. In addition, inaccurate SPM data made reliable OEE calculations difficult. Although separate speed meters were considered to improve SPM accuracy, the overseas former lines ultimately adopted the same POP-based system used at headquarters.
Implementation
Signals for count, continuous operation, box ejection, clutch stop, and machine stop were collected through standard PLC equipment, while compatibility with domestic systems was maintained using the CIMON SCADA server platform. After integrating with the ERP database and completing server and terminal configuration domestically, installation and communication testing were carried out at overseas subsidiaries. The deployment covered a total of 54 machines across all subsidiary production facilities.
Results
Overseas subsidiaries transitioned from manually recording production results to utilizing real-time equipment data, improving the accuracy and reliability of production performance management. In addition, reliable SPM data became available through the POP system, enabling accurate OEE calculations without the need for separate tachometers, while maintaining the same operational standards as the headquarters’ former lines.
